Microsalt believes it is important to actively perform research in collaboration with scientific institutes.

For this reason, Microsalt has started to collaborate with the University Clinic Tübingen in October 2009.

UKT Tübingen:
In October 2009, Microsalt has started a collaboration with the university clinic of Tübingen, Germany to assess the true mechanisms of action that dry salt aerosol creates in the airways. Microsalt and UKT have developed a format for research that contains several stages and initiated a pilot study with a relative small group of people. Based on the initial findings, an extensive clinical study was started. This study is running for at least another 12 months.

Microsalt and UKT have published their first study results in the European Journal of Cystic Fibrosis in June 2011 after having these presented during the European Cystic Fibrosis Conference which has taken place from 8th until 11h June 2011.
